Saturday Bonus: Goals

Goals are never straight forward

Goals.

We all have them. Some big, some small and some that - for some reason -seem to always stay just beyond our grasp. Like if we could only reach one more inch or hang on a little bit longer we’d have made it. That beautiful goal we set for ourselves would be securely in our hands. As if our one true self had been awakened; we would feel the heart in our chest come alive with excitement and smile that brilliant smile of success.

That all sounds like a dream don’t it? It might make you question if dreamers are the only ones in life that truly succeed. The problem with that is…we are all dreamers. We all set some type of goals. It may be a goal as simple and small as brushing my hair today or putting on pants. Perhaps it’s a little bigger and the goal is to walk 10,000 steps or make it through 30 minutes of an exercise DVD.

Goals are dreams with deadlines

What if it’s even bigger than that? What if our goal is to write a book, run a marathon, or lose 100 pounds? Goals come in every shape and size; some may seem insignificant in the small scheme of things but nevertheless important. Some may even seem like huge mass of destruction that's out to eat us alive just for merely attempting to reach them.

Sometimes I feel that way, like I take 10 steps backwards for every 3 I make forward. I can give you a PRIME example actually. If you have a Facebook Fan (business) page then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

This week I’ve been on a mission. You see, I set a goal for myself. My Coach has 302 likes on her “fan page”. At the beginning of this mission I had 42 or so. I also just started the page on January 17, 2016.  This mission is far from over; I’m still aiming to pass her up. At this moment, 6:35 p.m. on January 30, 2016 - I currently have 130 likes. I feel like I’ve done pretty well so far.

I'm the Girl who failed Gym Class

HOWEVER…I’ve been watching those numbers very closely and I will go from 132 to 126 and then climb back to 127 and finally to 128 only to drop back to 126 again! I understand some people may be invited to my page, like it, take a look around and decide it’s not for them or they’re not sure they want to get to know me and unlike it. I get that. But when you are watching these numbers go back and forth and back and forth, it truly does feel like for every 3 steps forward you take 10 back.

If you don’t have a Facebook “fan page” and you are on a weight loss journey imagine those numbers I’m mentioning above as if they’re the numbers on your scale…I know many of you can relate to that! You know when you plateau and it seems as if the number NEVER moves or it might drop a pound and be right back tomorrow? Yeah, I know you do! Go ahead and say AMEN, Sister! It’s okay, Preach it!

That’s the way it is with any goal you set. There will always be obstacles in the way. Our desire to reach the goal has to be stronger than the obstacles in our way. Otherwise, we risk giving up, quitting and never reaching that goal. And no matter how silly, small or insignificant it may be to someone – if it’s important enough we won’t let go, we’ll hang on for all we’re worth and we will succeed.

Most people set goals at the end of the year. New Year’s Resolutions…most gyms are PACKED for the first 3 weeks of the New Year. Then after 3 weeks you notice once again that your coveted parking spot is empty. Little by little they trickle back out of the gym, but you will still notice a few new faces. Why? Because the strong survive! They stay. They tough it out…they hang on.

They’ve had something occur in their lives or maybe it was a shift in the universe, but either way a healthier life has become of major importance to them and they’re not willing to let it go. They are the ones that inspire the gym rats and if you look closely enough they’re probably inspiring every person they know or meet. I find the most awesome thing about that is that they don’t even know it!

Goals Possible Dream

You may feel as you walk into that gym for the first time and for weeks after that everyone is watching you and just waiting for you to fail. That couldn't be further from the truth. They are watching you, but not to see if you fail. They're watching and waiting for YOU to inspire them.

You know what I think helps people hang on, succeed and eventually become known as one of the “gym rats”? They don’t make goals (resolutions) just once that year. They re-evaluate them over and over. They have small goals and big goals.
This is why this topic is on my mind today; it’s time for me to re-evaluate.

I started out on January 6th 2016, just aiming to get back to my former healthy active self. I didn’t have clear defined goals. I have some now and I know they’ll change regularly, just like the number of likes on my fan page.

So as we roll into February 2016, I’ve some things I need/want to accomplish. Goals. Small ones. I’m posting this today – in hopes that you’ll read it and take a moment to reflect and set some of your own before we journey on into February, with goals in place we have a much better chance of success.

Small Goals

Here are the things I would like to accomplish in February and I know they’re going to take hard work, but that’s okay. I’m ready!

  • Complete 1 round of 21 Day Fix Extreme
  • Read 5 Personal Development Books
  • Reach 500 likes on my fan page – you can help me with that by clicking the “invite friends to like this page” beneath the profile picture and by sharing the page or some of the posts you enjoy reading or watching.
  • To post 3-5 videos a week (from me personally) on my fan page and figure out periscope!
  • To kiss 160 goodbye! I’ve approximately 7 lbs to go…
  • To continue eating clean and drinking water
  • To find 1 new Challenger, 1 new Shakeology customer and 1 new Coach
  • Not to miss a Team or Coach call
  • Keep blogging
  • CONSISTENCY
  • To help at least ONE person by continuing to share my journey
  • To make new friends!

Now, it’s your turn. Sit down and reflect on the things you did accomplish this month and then make a list of 10 or less SMALL goals that you want to accomplish in February. Write them down and when you re-evaluate again at the end of the month in preparation for March you’ll be able to mark some things off and create room for new small goals. Make sure each of these goals you set are stepping stones towards your overall BIG goals. You are laying the foundation to your dreams, remember that.

Got Goals

One of my BIG goals is to reach 135 pounds and running ½ marathons again.

Don’t be upset or let go if you have to carry a small goal over to the following month – just keep trying to reach it. It’s probably right there, just like a word on the tip of your tongue, so don’t let go!

We will overcome the obstacles that stand in our way together. I’m right here with you, walking this journey with you and here to talk if you need to. You are not alone in this journey.

Let’s make February 2016, AMAZING!!!

Goals Amazing Successful

Sincerely,

~Coach Tonya~

About That Kitchen

I know the last time I posted I said we’d talk about food. Well, I’m getting there. I do want to discuss that with you as I truly believe the hardest part of this journey is in the Kitchen. This “food discussion” will carry on throughout various posts as we travel this journey, kind of like when you take a road trip. You stop here and there for food. Well, here and there will be bits of food information for you to digest in small portions at a time. Who wants to be overwhelmed by the Kitchen? Not Me!

My Mom, she gets really overwhelmed in the kitchen and with cooking. She was really frustrating me when talking about food too! Yeah, I know she can read this – she also already knows what I’m saying – so we’re good. She’s one of my best friends. I’m blessed with an amazing family!

Recently, I believe she’s had a bit of a “change of heart” in regards to the kitchen. I pray that I am correct. She told me,

The hardest part for me has always been the eating. I think that one of my biggest reasons for failure is I jump in with both feet and become so overwhelmed I never accomplish any of it. I figure the kitchen stuff which is my biggest obstacle is the first place I need to start.”

Obviously, I believe her assessment is correct. I’ve watched her, listened to her and I know what she said to be true. I also believe that because she struggles so much with the kitchen that she makes every excuse in the book not to be IN the kitchen. When you don’t like or enjoy something or it feels too overwhelming how likely are you to do it?

I don’t enjoy shaving my legs, but it has to be done. How long can I put it off before my husband says I’m scratching him or before it bothers even me? It’s just a time consuming thing I wish I didn’t have to deal with. I should be thankful I have shaving cream and razors, I’m sure some people don’t. The truth of the matter is; it’s one of those things I put off. It’s okay if you do it too, I won’t tell.

Let me give you another example: I don’t enjoy sharing with you that I fell off the wagon. That life knocked me down so far I didn’t get back up. That I know what to do and I have all the tools to do it with and to succeed…but that I just didn’t. I’ve actually put it off for months! Then I decided there has to be a lesson in all this, there has to be somebody out there who needs to hear what I am saying and what is that old saying? “The truth shall set you free”.

So as painful as it is and as vulnerable as it makes me feel – I chose to open myself up to you, to show you behind the scenes. What really happened to me and it’s not pretty. I don’t enjoy admitting to a 40 pound weight gain. I don’t enjoy it at all!

However, it must be done. I want you to realize I truly am on this very real journey with you, that you are not alone. That I do not say, “You got this!” or “You can do it!” simply because it feels like the right thing to say or the “practiced” thing to say. I say,

YES, YOU CAN!”

Because I truly believe it - for the both of us. I am as real as the nose on your face. You won’t get “practiced lines” full of fluff from me. It goes against my nature and I don’t operate that way.

Now, about that kitchen…

You know they say that losing weight is 70% Kitchen and 30% gym, correct? I believe that to be true. If you eat all the wrong things that hour in the gym is going to struggle to maintain you where you are and the differences you see within yourself and your body will be lacking.
Don’t believe me?

Let me prove it. LOOK AT ME!

This didn’t happen because I ate healthy. This happened because I hate junk! This happened because I stopped paying attention to what I was eating and it was okay if every night was pizza night or I drank ½ a bottle of coffee creamer a day (mixed with coffee of course). This is what happened when I stopped treating food as fuel and just ate it to be eating it.

Then guess what, I struggled to keep exercising! That too became – well, not fun anymore. The more I ate the less I worked and the less I worked the more I ate. Vicious cycle! Trust me, if you are not putting the hours in, in the kitchen your results will be lacking! You will feel like giving up and eventually you just might. You have to become friends with your kitchen. It won’t bite you. Take baby steps: small efforts repeated DAILY.

Drink more water. Eat more veggies. Eat less red meat. Eat less sugar. Eat fruit vs drinking fruit juice. So many baby steps you can take in the right direction.

You also need to VISUALIZE! You’ve heard me mention this before. You have to visualize in the kitchen too and visualize how the food you are consuming is fueling your body. I might have mentioned this previously, but your body is the car. Which car is it?

The car barely maintained, oil rarely changed, tires nearly bald, rust spots, dents, and a broken window?

Or the car maintained regularly, oil changed every 8,000 miles, tires rotated, balanced and replaced as needed, washed, waxed and polished to shine…

…loved?

Your food is the fuel that you use to maintain a well ran machine; your body. The proper food keeps you full, helps your skin glow, helps with weight loss, and gives you more energy, help you sleep and so much more! Most importantly, a body fed properly is a body loved.

Make the kitchen a number 1 priority! If you don’t know what foods you need to fuel your body – ask! If you need a meal plan to follow – ask! Don’t be afraid to try new things! Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Just the other day a member of my “free” group told me about something called, Rock Sugar. I’d never heard of it! I had to do some research.

You have to make the time and become knowledgeable about what you are fulling your body with. You can give me the excuses, but if you truly want change you won’t. If you have time to be sitting there watching T.V. (even though you worked hard all day and are tired) or if you have the time to be on Facebook – guess what? Yup, you have the time to be in the kitchen!

Know what else? If you have the time to be texting or messaging me about how you don’t have the time – you’re wrong again. Stop whining and do something about it. I will help you. I will give you advice as best I can. I will not encourage or indulge in whining or flat excuses. If you need to text me to walk you through some baby steps in your kitchen, do it! If you text me to tell me you don’t have the time…I will find the loop hole in that excuse and hand it back to you. I do want to be your friend…but I’m a real friend. I won’t indulge or help you find excuses to fail.

YOU CAN DO THIS! We can do it together, one baby step at a time. Here is a list of some baby steps you can start with:
  • Drink a gallon of water a day.
  • Eat vegetables.
  • Remove junk; cakes, chips, creamer…
  • Eat small meals – portion control (21 day fix helps with this)
  • Keep a food journal and write down how you feel before and after – not just what you ate.
  • Eat less bread and cheese.
  • NO POP or SODA!
  • NO BEER or ALCOHOL!

Start implementing these steps and you will start to feel and see change. I’m here to keep you accountable and I’m not afraid to call you out. I’m your friend and I want what is best for you. SO let’s do this! Let’s fight back!

Let’s be over-comers and let no obstacles stand in our way. What obstacles are you facing, tell me about them! Let me hold your hand and walk this journey with you; it’s awful lonely and dark when you go it alone.

“Lean on me, when you’re not strong and I’ll help you carry on, lean on me”

Sincerely,

~Coach Tonya~

Those Dreaded Numbers

Those Dreaded Numbers

How many of you hate stepping on the scale?

…I’ll bet every person that just read the above sentence shouted “YES!” Do you know why we hate it so much?

            *    Because it tells us we’re failing and we don’t like to hear that.
            *    Because we let it define us – when it shouldn’t.
            *    Because it is depressing when the number goes up or doesn’t move.
            *    Because it ruins our entire day!
            *    Because it makes us cry.
            *    Because it has a power over us that we struggle to break.
            *    Because…because…because…

…the list goes on and on, yet we continue to step on it time and time again, hoping, praying that just maybe today will be the day that those numbers reflect our hard work, our dedication and our desire to weigh less. Many of us hold out hope every morning, only to have them quickly diminished and what does that do to the rest of our day???

Depression. It is real my friends. Very, very real. That scale you step on every morning or possibly every week is not lifting you up. It’s bringing you down. You do not need a daily dose of Debbie downers! Or weekly for that matter. How does depression help you in this journey? It doesn’t. It makes you want to quit, to give up, and to hide away in your home where nobody can see you.

How do I know this? Am I just running my mouth? No, I’m sharing my pain with you, my experiences and I’ll just bet that you can relate to them, can’t you?

Here's a short video I put together of my success and my downfall: Journey Back

Do you know my story? Have you been my friend for a while or are you new here? For those of you old and new, here is my story. I hope it will inspire you to step away from the scale and keep walking in your journey to a healthier life. You are going to fall down, off the wagon, trust me – I have a few times. This time I stayed down a lot longer than I ever should have and now I’m picking myself back up, dusting off my shoes and getting back in the fight.

I’m going to give you the short version – not easy for me, I’m usually pretty long winded. You can read the very first post of this blog (before I began working on my consistency) HERE and then follow up by reading today’s post.

I did not begin having or really struggling with weight issues until after my son was born in 2002. I gained a lot of weight with him and it did not come off as easily as it had with his big sister. Instead, it seemed to keep coming. I was no longer a size 3 but a 5 and then a 7…and the numbers just kept getting bigger. I think the biggest I've ever been is a size 14 and for a small 5 foot 2 frame...that's a lot!

It was depressing. In 2003, I was struggling with some health issues and I had been battling some anxiety and depression since my son was about 2 months old. Looking back, I guess things started to go downhill July of 2002. My husband and I had some marital trouble to add to the mix and that of course didn’t help. By the time we moved to England in 2008, I had lost a little weight but I seemed to be doing this yo-yo thing…lose a little, gain a little and repeat. I was also on a crazy amount of medication at this time for all sorts of things. It was ridiculous!

The summer of 2011 my husband deployed and would be gone for 6 months, missing Christmas for the first time ever. I decided not long after he left to start taking better care of myself. I do not know why it works this way, but most women (I know I’m not alone in this) can focus better on this when their husband is away. I wanted to surprise him. I wanted to lose as much weight as I could before he returned. So I jumped in with both feet and took off.

I had a total of 30 pounds I needed to lose to reach my goal. By the time he returned home I’d lost 16 pounds. Once he returned however, I was able to maintain my focus and keep working towards my goal. I finally got with in reaching distance of 125 and I seemed to be pretty happy at 133. I felt good too. I was involved in many things, many things that I seriously miss.

Today – I’m starting over. I’ve gained all 30 + 10 back. Yup, 40 pounds, I’m the heaviest I’ve ever known myself to be and I hate it. I feel like a failure. I know better, for crying out loud I’m a trainer. I am embarrassed that I let this happen to myself. I am ashamed I did not handle the changes, the loss, the grief and the move in my life better. I’m disappointed I did not maintain my weight. I have beaten myself up over and over and over because of it, but you know what? That is getting me nowhere!

I keep telling myself over and over in my head… “If you want it done right, do it the way your trainer showed you”. So what’s stopping me? Why am I not following my own advice and doing as Herman taught me?

                        *    Because I outgrew all my amazing gym clothes.
                        *    Because I don’t want anyone to see me.
                        *    Because I want to hide in my house.
                        *    Because pj’s are comfy and inexpensive.
                        *    Because I feel I need to lose a little at home first…

The list goes on and on. Eventually, we have to stop making excuses, stop saying one more glass of sweet tea, one more cheat meal, one more coffee, one more…one more…one more.

Eventually, we have to dig deep and find the motivation we need to push forward either for the first time or again and again. I remember a great many things Herman said to me during our training sessions and one of those things he would say is to VISUALIZE what you want, where you want to be. I believe he told me that because your body will not go where you mind will not take it.

Do you want to see what my visualization was?

visualize your fit life

Do you know what it is now?

Visualize where you want to be

I was looking good and I want to look good again. I’m moving again soon and to a more active area; an area where 5K’s and ½ marathons will be easier to participate in and so I’ve found a new motivation. I want to be ready to participate in these things again – therefore I have got to get my body in shape!

This body – is currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION
body under construction

I’m starting out slow. I know I cannot do the things I could before because I’ve lost muscle and gained fat. It’s high time I flipped that around again. I am currently following the 21 Day Fix meal plan and I am walking. I want to run so badly, but I know I’m not ready and I’m dealing with a little Plantar Fasciitis that causes my entire left leg to pain me.

I’ve not had sweet tea in a week – not even the other night when we went to Olive Garden to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I had water. I also got to thinking the only thing I ate that I probably should have avoided was the bread sticks. I had salad and I had baked chicken with roasted potatoes (including sweet potatoes).

I’ve not had coffee creamer in a week. I’ve been adding coffee to my Shakeology – so good! I’ve not had toast, not a lot of bread, not a lot of cheese…I feel I’m doing better in the kitchen and that is where the biggest part of the job takes place.

I am building my strength up and I will begin the 21 Day Fix workout program in a week or two. I’m taking one day at a time and I’m being real and sharing that journey with you. I hope that it encourages you to get up and try again. If I can do it…so can you. I believe in you.

Today, I’m going to give you a challenge. I want you to first believe it or not step on the scale and then write that number down. I always do this first thing before I get dressed. Next, I want you to take your measurements, neck, biceps, bust, hips, waist, thighs and calves…write all that down (I hope you have a notebook). After that I want you to put on something pretty, do your make up and either take a selfie or have someone take your photo for you. This is going to be your BEFORE photo.

I see all these miserable looking before photos and well…yeah, I’m miserable, but I made that choice and I’m making the choice now to change it. I want to picture to reflect our change of mindset. Use a photo app and right the number the scale shows you on your photo and then I want you to put all of that aside and leave it in a safe place for 30 days. I don’t want you to step on the scale, take your measurements or photos for 30 days.

Step AWAY

Can you commit to not weighing in for 30 whole days???

I don’t want you disappointed, discouraged or depressed. I want you to stay away from that scale!

I want you to focus on baby steps.

Baby Steps

The first one being your food, what meal plan are you following? Are you eating healthy or not? Do you need help in this area? What can I do to help you?

The second step is I want you to exercise for 30 minutes and if all you can do is walk for 30 minutes then that is what I want you to do. Purposely walk for 30 minutes, get your heart rate up a little bit.

And the third step is to download an app or wear a Fitbit or something to count your steps. The goal is 10,000 per day. I want you building your activity levels.

These are simple baby steps and this is where I want you to start. It’s where I myself am starting. Tomorrow we will talk more on food, but for now I need you to pray and decide to 30 days – no scale and 30 days of baby steps.

If you are willing to accept the challenge – send me an email coachtonya1@gmail.com or contact me on Facebook. I want to walk with you through this journey. It’s a lot easier with a friend.

Sincerely,

~Coach Tonya~

Bonus Post 1

This is a bonus post and I have a feeling I will be posting a few of them. However, most of my posts will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday and you may notice that I schedule posts. I try to write them and keep them scheduled so that whenever you visit – there is something new to check out. I’m also playing around with some videos. I feel I need to step out of my comfort zone and videos are out of my zone! We don’t grow if we’re comfortable.

I invited you to travel along this journey with me and so I need to share the journey with you…for realz! I want you to know I’m not just hanging out here and telling you stuff but I am going through it with you my love!

So with that being said I’m going to share my first 2 videos with you. I’ve been a little unsure about sharing these because well I get a bit emotional in both and I cannot stand to be emotional! I don’t mind if anyone else is emotional, I just personally don’t like it when my emotions get the best of me. It’s just a hurdle I haven’t been able to jump. Maybe it’s a control thing – I don’t know.

I shared the first video in my private FREE accountability group and everyone encouraged me to share it…so I’m biting the bullet, sucking it up, stepping out of my comfort zone and sharing them with you. Please be nice.

Video one was recorded January 18 2016 @ 171.8 pounds (I believe).

I hear Snoop Dogg saying "Greetings Loved Ones" - you know from the beginning of California Girls by Katy Perry in my head...my playlist has MANY personalities.

Video two was recorded January 25th 2016 @ 169.4 pounds (and I took the time to make myself look nice…what a difference!)

Let's just stick to songs shall well...anyone heard the new Adele song they're playing OVER and OVER...they're gonna wear that baby out!

I'm not sure if this is the BEST way to share videos within a blog...but it's what I know how to do, we'll see about improvement upon education. I know a lot of people go all out when creating videos. I'm not making a movie here. I just want to talk to you, be it from my closet or kitchen or even my car - it's not going to be a polished fantastic creation. It's just me, hope that's alright.

Constant Consistency Challenges

I'm gonna call it the CCC. I struggle with it CONSTANTLY! The last post I made was on the 8th and it was short and sweet. I never returned, even though I said I would in 5 minutes. My goal is to post every other day except Sunday's and so far it is still a serious CHALLENGE for me. Today, (the day I'm writing this is January 16th), I aim to do better regularly and honestly I think that's all we can do, every day. Life is going to knock you down time and time again. It's up to you whether or not you get back up

My Mom and I were recently discussing health and exercise. She said something to me that I'd like to share.

"The one thing I notice about most fitness post though is they seem to think everybody is on the same page, and the same level and we're not. We're all different ages, weights and have different health issues. There are some things that I physically would harm myself if I did, that you or someone even healthier or with less weight or younger could do with no problem. That's not to say that someday I may be able to do some of those things or at least do a moderation of some of those things, but people seem to want to push you to do things that will hurt you."
"You can do this! They say. You got this! They say. But the truth is I can't physically do some of that unless I want to be hurt. That can be very discouraging and make you not want to read the post."

What do you think about that?

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about that lately and I’ve a few things to say about it. I hope you will hear me out. She is right; to an extent. We are all at different levels, ages, weights, and struggling with different health issues. I am a BeachBody Coach and it is my goal to HELP you. I do not in any way ever wish to hurt you; however, I am guilty of saying:

“You can do this!” or “You got this!”

I do not say this as a “market strategy”. I say this because I truly believe it. I’m not going to tell you that you can’t”. I am sorry, I do not believe in that word. Once you start telling yourself you cannot do A, B, or C before long you’ll find yourself unable to do D, E, or F!
It is a downward spiral that I will not encourage – ever.

I believe in you no matter your age, weight or health issues. You may not believe in yourself, but that does not mean that I cannot believe in you. It does not mean that I won’t push you to reach a little higher or stretch a little further. You are capable of far more than you will ever know and I can say that to you NOT because I’m a Beachbody Coach BUT because I’ve lived it. I’ve experienced what it’s like to learn and see just what my body is capable of. The ONLY way to experience this and learn it is to simply TRY.
just try
When I ran my first marathon in 2013, I struggled from mile 19 all the way to 26. I started having cramps in my hamstring at mile 19, by mile 22 I was barely moving. I was hurt. I was in a lot of pain. I’d hit that dreaded wall runners talk about and I did not know how to get over it. I was crying – something I rarely admit to doing. I was texting my best friend Jenny, my Mom and my Husband. The struggle was real! I broke down and told my husband,
I can’t”. He said the best thing anyone has ever said to me:

You CAN and you WILL. You have never said that you can’t and I’m not about to let you start now. Keep moving.

At mile 24, my husband and children met me. My son and husband grabbed each of my hands, my daughter carried items and they all walked me across that finish line. They believed in me, when I no longer did, when I had given up on myself. That is what I want to do for YOU!

You will tell me things that I will view as “false” and I will tell you so, just as my husband told me during the marathon. However, I already believe in you. Now, I simply want to hold your hand and walk with you through this journey.

I'll help you

Let’s say I have encouraged you to buy the 21 Day Fix and you’ve received it…
What do you do next?
Do you…

A)   Sit down and watch it first and then psych yourself out of doing it?
B)   Plan to start it on Monday and forget?
C)   Start it on Monday and give up on Wednesday?
D)   Honestly commit to it for 21 days modifying everything you are currently unable to complete due to your weight, age or health issues?
E)   Commit to it for 21 days doing exactly every single thing it says even though you are physically not ready for certain moves and end finding yourself injured, disappointed and frustrated?
F)    Get started and run into a few issues and discuss with your coach???
G)   Successfully complete the program and feel proud of yourself?

Do you know what I would like you to do?

I’d like you to call me when you receive your box. I’d like to talk you through it, answer some of your questions and help you prepare to fully commit yourself to the program for 21 days. I’d like you to call me, text me or message me each day after your workout and tell me how it went, how you felt, where you had struggles, ask me questions and let me help you. Most of all, I’d like you to allow me to be your friend first and then your Coach. I don’t want you to get hurt during your journey, but I will not tell you that you cannot do it. I’m sorry, my heart would shatter if I told you that, because I truly deep in my heart believe that you CAN do it. It may require baby steps, modified movements, slower moves…but you CAN if you first make the decision to TRY. If you have injuries you know what your limits are, do not ignore them.

If you want a friend or a Coach who will sugar coat things, who will tell you that you can’t do a, b, or c, and who does not believe in you – then I’m not the friend or Coach you need. I will never lie to you – I may suck at being consistent, but I will never lie to you. I won’t sugar coat things. I won’t tell you that the bagel you’re eating is a great breakfast when I believe otherwise. I won’t tell you that you cannot do something when I believe in my heart and soul that on some level you can. I am a bluntly honest person, but I will not get in your face and yell at you or tear you down. My goal is to first and foremost be your friend, to encourage you, to believe in you and to help you see just what an amazing person you truly are and how strong your body really is.

I’m going to be real with you. You will see “marketing” from me. Selling BeachBody products is how I make an income. If I do not promote them, I do not make any money. However, I will not promote products that I myself have not tried or had experience with. That doesn’t mean that I will not share with you when new items are being released or on sale, because I will. If you follow me on Instagram you will see all the hashtag craziness. If you follow my FB page – you will see all that there as well. If you are a member of my FREEprivate’ FB group you will see it there as well.

you are the author

However, I will be real with you. I will share with you how I, personally, am doing. I will share with you what my struggles are, what I’m eating, drinking, when I screw up, what exercises I’m trying to improve on and so much more. I will share this journey with you as if we are best friends.

If that is something you would like then I invite you to be my friend and join me in this journey.

Sincerely,

~Coach Tonya~
